A disappointing experience : I’ve been a loyal customer of BBQ Nation for years and have visited almost every branch in Chennai. They have never failed to meet my expectations — until last night’s dinner at the Chromepet branch. From the moment we entered, it was clear this outlet wasn’t up to BBQ Nation’s usual standards. The restroom area had a strong urine smell and was poorly maintained, with unclean toilets and wash basins. That alone gave a bad first impression. ( I have pictures but I did not want to attach ! ) The restaurant ambience felt dated and messy, with old-fashioned 80s–90s style paper decorations that didn’t match BBQ Nation’s modern vibe. The air conditioning didn’t seem to work properly, making the place hot and uncomfortable — we were honestly waiting to finish dinner quickly and step outside for some fresh air. When it came to food, it was unfortunately below average. The starters were okay, main course and the desserts were a complete letdown. On a positive note, I must appreciate the staff and chefs — they were genuinely working hard, constantly checking on us and trying to ensure we were satisfied. Their efforts truly stood out despite the conditions. Also, a great live singer performed throughout the evening, and his music helped us manage the situation and lift the mood a little. Overall, this visit was a big disappointment, and the issues clearly point to management and maintenance failures rather than the staff. BBQ Nation is known for its lively atmosphere and quality food — I really hope the Chromepet branch management takes this feedback seriously, renovates the place, and brings it back to the brand’s usual high standards. Barbeque Nation- Chromepet, Chennai.
I thought every review made was in a fizzy, but honestly I feel the ambience, the food and the overall service was worth giving such good reviews.
Very good staffs, who would be at your table the very second you are in need of something. The starters were good, the mains were very common, mutton was heavenly.
I was flat smile with the deserts, coz all were as usual.
A live counter with veg and non veg delicacies, not forgetting to mention the cream sauce pasta made for me. That was really good.
Believe me that was a sweet and happy experience.
Abhijeet to mention was a staff who was so happy to help big time.
