Bad Experience at Sangeetha Egmore (Ethiraj Salai) I want to share a very disappointing experience we had today at Sangeetha, Egmore (Ethiraj Salai). I have been a regular customer here for the past one and a half years. I eat breakfast almost every morning and often come for lunch or dinner. Today, I went for lunch with four of my friends, who are also regular customers. We ordered three regular meals (₹180 each) and one curd rice. After finishing our food, we asked for extra rice—which is normally included in the meals. Even if it was chargeable, we were ready to pay. We then shared the food among ourselves. While I went to wash my hands, one of the service staff suddenly approached me and said, “Don’t share your food with others, it’s against our rules.” I explained that it was my food, my friends were sitting with me, and it’s my decision to share. But shockingly, he raised his voice and said, “You are not the owner of this restaurant, so don’t repeat it.” This was extremely insulting and unacceptable, especially since all the staff here know us as regular customers. We did not waste food—we ordered properly, paid for it, and ate together. Sharing food at one table with friends or family should not be treated as a violation. If this is how they behave, how can we confidently bring our families here? What if they insult us in front of our loved ones? It feels like because the restaurant is always busy, they don’t care about regular customers anymore. Sometimes we give tips, but it’s not affordable for us to do so regularly—and that should not affect how we are treated. This was a very unpleasant experience. We have been loyal to Sangeetha for a long time, but today’s incident left us feeling deeply disrespected. I hope the management seriously looks into this matter and ensures that such behavior does not happen again to any customer. Food: 5 Atmosphere: 5

One of the best veg restaurants in Chennai. I had ghee roast, vada and coffee from there. It was the best ghee roast I ever had. I would have ordered another if the price was a bit less. Ghee roast alone cost 165/- as on september 2025. Vada cost around 50 and so did the coffee. Ambience is good and service is also good. Service: Dine in Meal type: Breakfast Price per person: ₹200–400 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Vegetarian offerings: Menu is all vegetarian

Dined here in the evening. The ambience was good and the staff were humble. The meal was served quickly. The rice was nicely steamed and served hot. The poriyal and sweet were good, though the appalam was a little oily. Prices were moderate. Overall, my tummy was satisfied.
