We took a drive down to a nursery in Balaramapuram, and on our way back, we decided to stop by S P R Restaurant. There’s parking available inside the compound, but it was full when we arrived. Luckily, we found a spot just outside. An auto-rickshaw driver who had just finished his meal at the restaurant kindly knocked on our window and offered us his parking space as he was leaving — such a warm and thoughtful gesture that made us feel welcome right away. The security staff also assisted us in parking carefully so our tyres wouldn’t scrape the shop’s steps, which we really appreciated. The road in front is quite narrow for a highway, and we hope it gets widened in the near future. That said, we parked and headed in. The restaurant was packed, and we initially thought we’d have to wait. But after washing our hands and waiting for a bit, one of the waiters found us two seats, and we were seated opposite a couple already enjoying their meal. We ordered one mutton roast with idiyappam. As we started eating, we noticed the couple across from us were enjoying a delicious-looking dish with bone marrow curry. One bite into our mutton roast, and we immediately knew we had to order more. We ended up ordering another mutton curry, followed by another plate of mutton roast. The taste was just that good! In the end, we also ordered two mutton roasts and two mutton curries as takeaway. It was a memorable afternoon, filled with great food and warm service. Thank you to the team at S P R for the lovely experience — we’re definitely looking forward to coming back! One of the best restaurants in Balaramapuram. Mutton dishes, parotta, puttu and appam are must try. Limited parking space in front of the restaurant. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: ₹200–400 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4 Recommended dishes: Porotta and Mutton Perattu
