Putiram Sweets is the only sweet shop you need to go to whenyou are in or around College Street. Replete with a small seating area, this sweet shop serves all types of sweets and snacks and the famous Kochuri with Alur Dum. The service is speedy, and the staff are friendly. There are a few tables, and the ambience reminds you of the Kolkata of the 70s, 80s and the 90s. And that's exactly what you should be here for. Do not expect to find parking anywhere nearby. Also expect to see your college days flash past you if you are an alumni of the any of the colleges or universities whose campuses are a stone's throw away! Recommended without reservation. The place is more renowned for its famed kochuris. Well its just about average, nothing extraordinary and not too bad either.. the misti doi is a surprise pick here that is a personal favorite. Unlike the general misti doi available in plenty all across kolkata which are reddish in colour the doi here is absolutely white in colour and tastes pretty unique. Has a very balanced taste and texture this one. Service: Dine in Meal type: Other Price per person: ₹1–200 Food: 3 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 2 Recommended dishes: Kachuri Aar Cholar Daal Recommendation for vegetarians: Somewhat recommend Vegetarian offerings: Menu is all vegetarian
