Bukhara in Delhi and Peshawari have been our favorite haunts for years now. We have dined at Peshawari RajputanaJaipur and Mughals Agra tens of times times and at Buhkara, Maurya Delhi a couple of times.We went to Peshawari, Sonar Bangla on 01 February 25. Ordered our favorite Dal Bukhara and Butter Chicken. Both the dishes were well below par compared to what we have experienced at their other properties over years and what we would get in an average restaurant. Butter Chicken was extremely tart and salty. I was sure that the tomatoes for the gravy had come from a can, though the manager denied it. Dal Bukhara seemed to be pre-cooked in a central kitchen and not freshly. Obviously the manager denied it. For the cost we paid, the experience was pathetic to say the least. Kolkata offers way better food at less than half the price. The feeling while leaving was of being cheated.This was our first and definitely the last visit to Peshawari Sonar Bangla. Branf Peshawari lost a loyal patron.
