On my way back from having dinner at Peshawri. The service, ambience was good but the food was such a let down. I ordered for a tandoori veg salad, and what I got on my plate was canned pineapple half(luke warmed), paneer pieces (white in column.. nothing tandoori about it) and the onion, capsicum and tomatoes. I had to send it back since it was room temperature and not piping hot straight from the tandoor. What i got back was a reheated plate of the same. The vegetable raita was not seasoned.. just chopped vegetables on a bowl of dahi. Thankfully the dal and romali roti was staple and edible. Overall a terrible food experience.

Simply the idea struck to have a good lunch on Sunday. What’s the best place in the city rather than Peshawari in ITC grand chola . Once you enter the property it’s the best - no doubt in that . But once you enter the restaurant you have to walk carefully as it has uneven flooring. Seating is also very uncomfortable with small stools and very compact dining place . Then comes the food for which the peshari is famous world wide . To enjoy the famous dal Bukhara thoroughly we ordered just one starter … fish tikka . It was just amazing we liked it so much that we ordered one more portion of it . For main course we ordered butter chicken , dal Bukhara obviously and lachcha paranthas . Paranthas were nice , crisp , hot and flaky . Butter chicken was like without butter and pieces were also seemed to be mixed ….. few soft and few very chewy. Biggest disappointment was dal Bukhara . On the very first bite we were surprised to find that dal was burnt . That means dal stuck to the bottom of pan and turned black . We called our steward and informed that it is burnt. It took us few minutes to think and discuss to tell them that dal is burnt. But to our surprise very calmly she said when kitchen staff is busy they forget to shake dal on time and dal portion is less when it is getting over it sticks to the bottom . So I will check in the kitchen and replace this dal with new dal . We were like whattt . The lady came and informed that they will serve us fresh portion of dal from fresh batch . You spend 1500/- for a portion of dal and you get this . Okay when you replace dal then what about the rotis …. That got cold . For that also they said okay we will replace it , will serve you fresh roti . Then what about dal . Is this the way of serving food to your guest more over when you are charging exorbitantly , you are a famous brand . If this is the quality served in a 5 star 7 star hotel then what can you expect from other restaurants.
