Lotus Biscoff Latte -Rs.180 Garlic Bun - Rs.100 House of Pearls, Laitumkhrah, Shillong Boba drinks Cafe $$ 15.01.25 Today I was meeting a friend in Laitumkhrah when I came across the House of Pearls signboard. I knew this was a Boba Drink cafe & since I'm very new to the concept, I thought I should open up my horizon & dive into this new craze & see what it was all about. I stepped inside & the place looked to have been recently renovated. It felt cozy. I went up to the counter, yes it is self service, had a look at the menu, they offer both boba & non boba drinks along with a few inhouse baked snacks. I was kind of relieved since it was cold & the non boba drinks had a cold & hot version. My mind eased up a bit, it's the middle of cold January & it's evening time, so I'm definitely getting myself a hot beverage, a Lotus Biscoff Latte to be precise. I also had a look at the cabinet displaying the baked goodies & I've always wanted to try the buns out which I have seen very often, so I placed my order. The lady at the counter asked if I wanted a single or double shot of coffee & I went with the latter. Anyway you have to pay in advance & I did & then took my seat. As I waited for my order, the owner stepped in & greeted me & like always, I started asking her a few questions. The place has been opened for 4 years now, in the midst of COVID & appears to be the 1st Boba drink place in town. Although I didn't opt for Boba, I was still excited about my little order. I've never had Lotus Biscoff or this Garlic Bun before. I went to take my order from the counter & the coffee was served in a very cute cup. It had broken pieces of Lotus biscoff on top of a thick creamy latte. It was good but I still wished it was slightly a little stronger. The bun was warmed up & the first few bites were amazing. Sadly the cold weather kind of spoilt the last few bites. Overall I had very nice experience & hopefully one I'll return back and try out the Boba drinks. Instagram ID - kari.on.eats
