Visited here on Christmas eve. The ambience was good. The service was great, our server recommended us great dishes and even explained what the chutney was made of. The food was great as well. 02.01.2026 Chili Oil Grill Chicken Ramen - Rs. 378/- The Hut, Laitumkhrah Police Point, Shillong Asian $$$$ Today is the first day of work of the year after 13 long days of Holiday. There were not many people who turned up considering it's a Friday & the next day being the weekend again. Anyway it was lunch time so I decided to walk down to Laitumkhrah & try out a place that I've seen so many influencers post reels ever since they completed their renovations last year. This place is The Hut at Laitumkhrah Police Point. Its not my first time here. I have eaten here before I started this page then again a couple of years ago when I came back for their Indian food. Today I wanted to try their Ramen. I had a look at the menu which was very inspirational, sharing how the place started out as a Juice Shop in Nongpoh in 2016 & how it grew to be The Hut in Laitumkhrah Police Point. Anyway I wanted to initially try the Flat Noodles Ramen but it wasn't available so I decided to just go for the Chili Oil Grill Chicken Ramen. So here goes my review: Ambience - 4.35 The place is nice & cozy. It actually felt like a hut & had different sections to it. One section which I believe is where all influencers create their reels was closed for me as the waiter informed that it was booked & I did see an influencer moving around the place taking shots. Anyway it was still a nice & comfortable place. Service - 4.2 I was pretty hungry as the Canteen people who would bring tea to the office were still closed for the holidays. So the 40mins wait for the food felt excruciatingly long. Anyway the waiter was nice as he kept checking up on me twice & updating me on the progress. Quantity - 4.4 The Ramen had a decent quantity. It had a big piece of grilled chicken sitting in a nice spicy broth along with a boiled egg, some leafy greens & a few florets of Brocoli. It did help fill me up. Quality - 4.4 The Ramen & the veggies were prepared very well. The grilled chicken though was a little overdone on the top layer making it feel slightly gristly.
