Our not particularly long but extremely noisy stop start journey was immediately forgotten as we were greeted by Joe (the owner) and his son Nirmal in their reception /lounge with its magnificent view across the valley to the mountain opposite. The setting and attention to detail here and of the bedrooms, dining room and public areas was tasteful and intelligent. However, their interest in our plans and keenness to make us feel at home was what stood out most. The waiter ( he was so much more than that) was excellent in ensuring my wife’s gluten intolerance was not compromised, and that my coffee got into the cup and not all over the table and every meal was excellent. Joe checked up that our trekking guide was good and even prepared a packed lunch, none of which we asked him to do. He pointed out some lovely walks from the homestay. Then, when he discovered my wife’s passion for textile work was keen see pictures of her art and to organise a tour of the Quppayam Boutique where she was shown the workshops and various items of work in progress. No extra charge! This is an absolute gem in a brilliant location. Service: 5

This property was like an oasis from the hectic pace of the cities we visited beforehand. This beautiful property is designed to make guests feel relaxed and comfortable. Our family room had a sitting area with a fold-out couch and a lovely bedroom. Bonus - the bed faced the balcony offering a view of the mountains. Meals here were delicious and Joe was a big help in helping us get around and offering us ideas for activities during our stay. A special hats off to Joe’s sons. They were a big help as well and always greeted us with a big smile.
