Worth the trip if you have a thing for renovated South Indian heritage buildings. They do serve alcohol (We didn't order any, but I mention this because Zomato wasn't clear on this point). We had Kothamalli Meen Porichathu (tender and crispy, but no standout flavour) and Kuchi Kozhi (underwhelming, felt a bit like reconstituted store-bought sausages). The main course was Vendakkayi More Kuzhambu - this was light and fresh, although the rasam was too salty for my taste. The staff is pleasant and attentive. Overall, it was a decent outing with no real standout moments.

I initially had my doubts as well, do we really need to have karaikudi food while I was soaking down with pastas; but Maison Perumal proved me wrong. It was indeed an amalgamation of French and Indian. The place looked beautiful with a very smart interiors. We got welcomed with a basket of pappad. I can’t rave enough about the mushroom milagu peratal. Btw, make sure you instruct your spice level before ordering. The mushroom was very well cooked and kept me throat hot while eating the whole time. It lacked a lot of salt and it wasn’t me but the nearby table complained of the same as well. Next was the paruppu urundai kozhambu with chappathi. The chappathi was really hard and didn’t taste good but the curry was top notch. Loved it. The lentil balls went along with the gravy and tasty too. Too add a cherry on the top, I got the pineapple kesari and I didn’t go wrong about it either. They also had an amazing list of cocktails.
