Kokum Kitchen, located within the Taj property, was a fantastic dining experience during our stay. We enjoyed both the breakfast buffet and dinner here, and the food was absolutely amazing each time. There were plenty of options to choose from, and everything was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. The service was also excellent — attentive and friendly staff who made the dining experience even better. Overall, a great place to enjoy delicious food with top-notch hospitality. Awful. We booked what we thought was a Thanksgiving dinner and it was beyond awful and barely had any food that should be on a Thanksgiving buffet. The turkey and cranberry sauce were the only good things, and there was no stuffing and no mashed potatoes or sweet potatoes which are an absolute must on any Thanksgiving buffet. In fact, there were no potatoes of any kind. Vegetables were heaped on the platter with the turkey and barely cooked. Every vegetable was hard. The carver disappeared from the turkey station but that was probably good because he had no clue how to carve a turkey and when I asked the difference between the two gravies, he just said they were good but couldn’t tell me what they were. At each dish they had inappropriate serving utensils or none at all. Most everything was Indian food and the salads and sides they did have were bland and unappealing with some glazed over looking as if they had been sitting out far too long. In no way was the dinner even close to what you would expect from a Taj hotel. Any restaurant on the road could do a better job. The deserts were also awful with no real Thanksgiving desserts. They could have a least thrown in a pumpkin pie. In no way was the food, cleanliness of the buffet or the service even close to a 5 star hotel and the chef should quit and go back to school as obviously he has no real international cooking experience and certainly not enough to be preparing food at a Taj. We were planning to book a few days at the hotel in December but after seeing the hotel, grounds and experiencing the disgraceful food, we would never consider staying here. The entire evening was extremely unpleasant and a huge disappointment and some of the worst food I’ve had in India. For $500 a night they should be ashamed. Food: 1 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 1
