Poor experience at Dakshin. Firstly, nobody was to be seen at the reception. After waiting for few minutes we finally called someone, and were then made to sit on the ground floor, which was nothing like the restaurant on the first floor. It looked like a quick-fix setup to accommodate some more guests. Certainly didn’t reflect a fine dining setup. That itself was a big turnoff. The food was also not worth the price they are charging. Malabar paratha was nice, but the bhindi dish ordered was oversalted. Thali starters were pretty bad, rasam was good, main course was ok, desserts were awful. Carrot halwa served was an insult to carrot halwa. The ice cream, which was a mishmash of 3 flavours, was awful as well. Staff service was good. We were definitely misled by the rating of this restaurant, as the overall experience was pathetic. Save your hard-earned money and go to some better thali places in the city.
