Classic South Indian Favourite with Great Food but Limited Parking Review: Cafe Mysore is one of Matunga’s iconic South Indian eateries — an institution famed for its authentic idlis, dosas, rasam vada, and filter coffee that have been delighting locals and food lovers for generations. The food is fresh, hearty, and very reasonably priced, making it a go-to breakfast or lunch spot for both regulars and first-timers. The dosa varieties (especially Dilkhush, Mysore masala) and pineapple sheera are often recommended by customers. The ambience is casual and simple — not fancy, but clean and welcoming. It’s often busy during peak times (especially weekends and mornings), so be prepared for a bit of a crowd and sharing tables, which contributes to its classic local charm. What We Loved Authentic South Indian flavours with generous portions. Quick service most of the time for breakfast and tiffin items. Pocket-friendly pricing. Good for family breakfasts and casual meets. Seating and comfort are basic; the place fills up quickly during rush hours. Parking & Access There is no dedicated parking lot or valet service at the cafe itself. Being right on Matunga’s King’s Circle area, finding street parking can be challenging, especially during peak morning and evening hours. You may need to park in nearby public parking areas or use paid parking zones near the circle and walk a short distance. If driving isn’t convenient, the cafe is very well connected by local transport, with King’s Circle railway station just a short walk away. Best For: Authentic South Indian breakfast/lunch, quick meals, family outings, casual meet-ups. Cafe Mysore established in 1930s is a fully vegetarian restaurant in Central Mumbai where people of all ages come and enjoy some absolutely great meals and spend a great time. A.Rama Nayak was then a class fourth drop out from a village in Karnataka. Choosing a vantage spot near the King's circle railway station, he started making and selling idlis and dosas on plantain leaves. It is a famous eating joint especially famous for its highly economically friendly menu. Cafe Mysore serves some really delicious South Indian cuisine. This place has a gentle and yet homely vibe to it. The helpful staff just add to the comfort. The menus continues to sport simple south Indian fare including idlis, dosas, rasam, pineapple sheera, and filter coffee. The restaurants still source their milk from an old trusted cowshed at Jogeshwari, and their vegetables and grain from old time suppliers. .
