Tucked away with stunning views of the Mandovi River, Babazin is a no-frills, no-pretense kind of spot—perfect for those who want to eat like a true Goan and leave calorie counts at the door. It’s not trying to be fancy. It’s about comfort, tradition, and full-on flavor. Ideal for a breezy morning or relaxed sunset meal with a view. What we tried: • Rava Fry Chonak: Cooked in authentic Goan style—crispy and dry, just the way locals like it. Outsiders might find it on the drier side, and there are no sides/accompaniments, so manage expectations. • Pork Sorpotel: Greasy, rich, and unapologetically indulgent—exactly how Sorpotel should be. Recommended with butter garlic poi, which was decent but not a standout. Drinks: • Fenito Cocktail: A strong, well-balanced local favorite with a solid punch. Goan spirit in a glass. Service: Straightforward and unfussy—don’t expect fine-dining polish, but the food does the talking. Washrooms: Basic but functional. Not the focus here. Overall: Babazin is a locals’ spot through and through. Come for the river view, stay for the real-deal Goan food, and don’t expect frills. Visited this place twice while I was living in the neighborhood during a visit to Goa. My friend and I decided to walk in on impulse as we were walking by this place one evening because we were hungry, and it turned out to be a surprisingly great experience! The food is absolutely delicious, they have a decent variety of items, and on top of that, the view of the ocean from the tables makes for a really pleasant ambience and atmosphere. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: ₹2,000+ Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Prawns Rawa Fry, Goan Prawn Curry, Shark Ambothik Vegetarian offerings: Not sure Vegetarian options: Wasn't really paying attention to the vegetarian menu as the non-veg menu has captured my complete attention. Dietary restrictions: None that I can think of.

Babazin's was an absolute dream. The view was stunning, the service was great and the food was the best we had in Goa. Try the Pomfret Recheado and Chorizo Pulao, trust me you will love it!! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
