Awadh is a renowned name in the Naihati area for its exotic food and royal experience. But today, we experienced the exact opposite. We went for our Durga Puja dinner at this place. To start with the waiting procedure: First, you must register your name on the ground floor. Then, you are sent to the rooftop, where you need to wait for some time. Finally, you are sent to the restaurant floor, where you must again wait for your turn. This three-step waiting process is inefficient and frustrating. Next is the food. Many dishes from the menu were unavailable during Durga Puja, which is somewhat understandable. We chose our dinner from their Puja Special menu. The chicken dish we ordered was really good in taste. Now, the thing which we didn't expect was the behavior of the senior staff. They were incredibly arrogant and egoistic. We suddenly found a small bug in a piece of chicken. We immediately called the waiter and informed him. He returned with a lady, who might have been the receptionist or a managerial staff member. She came to our table and rudely said, "To ekhon ki korte hobe amader?" (So what should we do now?) The very next moment, she took the bug in her fingers, mashed it, and claimed it was a shell of a spice called "chironji." When we protested, she didn't even care and left the table, acting as if they had done nothing wrong. When we went to the cash counter and informed them, they were also carelessly dismissive of the issue. And not just us—we saw another group of people whom the lady treated so badly that they ended up leaving the restaurant. In summary, if you want to experience good food, you should visit Awadh, but be prepared for and kindly do not expect good service or decent behavior from the staff.
