Zing Rooftop is the name of the pub located at the top level of JP Hotel in Koyambedu. Happened to visit this place the night before checking out.Once you step out from the lift, there is a reception counter where they ask you if you have made reservations. Since we were staying in the hotel, we said we did not make. Fortunately, there was a table for us near the bar. Upon entering the pub floor, I was surprised to see so many tables were already occupied and it was only 8 p.m.The open area is located one level down and this is where you will find the DJ too. There is a huge LED screen at the back and the images sync with the music. It is also a dance floor so get ready to shake a leg to your favorite music.The menu is pretty huge and you will think a lot on what to order. There was a small confusion on one of the items we ordered. We immediately got it clarified because we knew what a Jalapeno looks like, but what was served was Green Chilli. So they made cheese balls as a substitute that was served with an Apple Mayonnaise Salad on the side. I would recommend the waiters to have more knowledge on the items.Here is what we ordered:1. Bruschetta Chili Cheese Corn - I think this was the best item of the evening. There was ample amount of cheese in every bite and the chilis and corn added more flavour to this dish. One portion comes with four pieces2. French Fries - Served in a basket, the fries were soft and not too oily. Tasted yummy by itself or with ketchup.3. Mini Idli with Gun Powder - If you love spicy food, then I would recommend you order this dish. The mini idlis are coated generously with the gun powder and on the side there is a bowl of chutney to cool your tastebuds down!The Beverages included Kingfisher Premium Pint, Virgin Pina Colada and Iced TeaWe were there for just an hour and while leaving we could see the crowd pouring in. Night life sure has changed in Chennai and you can see more and more people hanging out at Pubs and Lounges.The Zing Rooftop has a nice ambiance and since it's an open air terrace, it can get pretty cold, so do remember to carry a shawl or sweater.In case you are staying in JP Hotel, then you can definitely pay a visit in the evenings to catch the beautiful night view of Chennai.
