I’ve visited Zambar several times over the years, and it has usually been one of my must-go South Indian spots whenever I’m in Gurgaon. The ambience, service, and menu have made it a reliable choice—until my recent visit. This time, the dish I ordered came out overly salty and extremely spicy, even though I had clearly requested it to be on the milder side. I sent it back to the kitchen, but the replacement dish tasted almost the same, as if a bit of cream was added on top rather than preparing it fresh. For a restaurant that is on the expensive side, consistency really matters, and this experience was disappointing. I also spoke to the manager, who was polite, but the issue still wasn’t resolved. Zambar can be excellent when they get it right—flavors are authentic and the setting is great—but experiences like this make it feel like a bit of a gamble. I hope they take this feedback positively and focus on consistency, because I truly enjoyed coming here in the past and would love to feel confident about returning again.
