Zambar nails the basics of South Indian cuisine with flair. Started with the mini idlis, soaked in sambar that had a robust tamarind kick, followed by the veg stew along with traditional appam and coconut appam —silky gravy and fluffy bread were spot-on. Veg platter is amazing if someone wants to try 3-4 items in one go. Butter masala dosa is average in taste. The filter coffee finale was strong and frothy, just right. Drawback: the Chettinad chicken was very very average rice. Still, a reliable go-to in Gurugram for families or couples seeking variety of foods at one place.
