Small and cozy, but yet an amazing place in Chennai to have Sri Lankan food. The Pol Sambol, Chicken Sodhi & Appam, Kothu Rotis were exactly like what we get in Sri Lanka. Waiting time is a bit long as they make everything fresh. Why cook when you can get your comfort food delivered at your doorstep from Y Cook in Besant Nagar? Formerly known as Y Cook and presently as The Kandyan, this restaurant specialises in home style Sri Lankan food, though there are South and North Indian options on the menu as well. We decided to go Sri Lankan and ordered the Idiyappam made with red rice, Pol Roti, Pol Sambol and Seeni Sambol (both with Masi), Dhal Fry, the Prawn Sodhi and some Fried Shankara Fish on the side. The food was simple but excellent, exactly as home food ought to be! My only crib was that the dishes seemed overly priced for the quantity delivered.
