Another small inn with some yummy food being served with polite demeanor by the servers in Shillong. 1. Chicken Nasi Gorang - Yummy served with tomatoes and cucumber and prawnss papad 2. Chicken noodles - Good in taste. The noodles here are thin unlike the Hakka noodles you get in Mumbai The ambience is nice and the place is clean. Volga's Special Fried Rice - Rs.280/- Volga's Kitchen, Rynjah, Shillong Chinese, Asian $$$ 30.04.24 Today I was planning to have a Hyderabadi Biryani from The Locality at Rynjah Market. I climbed up the stairs to only be welcomed by a new restaurant. I left a bit confused as I was not planning to eat anywhere else. On my way back to the car, I passed by Volga's Kitchen. Now I have been thinking of visiting this place for sometime now ever since @the_tea_rex1000 had recommended it to me once. I entered inside to a very pleasant decor. I noticed that efforts were made to make it as cozy as possible. I asked for the menu & they had mostly Chinese items & Singaporean, Korean noodles & fried rice. I wasn't planning to eat fried rice since I just had it yesterday, but then I somehow ended up deciding on their Volga's Special Fried Rice which looked so pretty on their insta page. My order did take about 20mins to arrive & it really looked appetizing just like in the photos. It had a large quantity of green & yellow colored rice sitting below a level of fried pork, chicken & mushrooms & topped up with a Sunny side up & garnished with fresh chopped spring onions. Two people can easily share this dish. I took a bite & it was almost as good as it looked. The pork chicken & mushroom were cooked & seasoned well. The runny sunny side up helped to cut down the dryness. However the rice though pretty was a slightly on the harder side for me. It may not be a big thing for others, but personally for me it is. Also I'm not sure if eating this regularly is healthy thanks to the food coloring. Overall the dish was pretty likeable.
