Legacy! With each of my visits, I feel the taste has become a little more ordinary, but with my visit today, I felt the dosa taste has now become below average. With the mushrooming of multiple South Indian tiffin outlets, one might really want to recalibrate what's authentic and tasty. Nevertheless, the place has a charm of its own, taking people back in time (in fact pre independence) and it is this legacy that is most appealing. The service too remains good, but kind of gets overshadowed with the really long waiting times. They have a takeaway counter as well, and, at least when I saw, there was hardly anyone there - perhaps indicating that it's the dine-in experience that Vidyarthi Bhavan is "recalled" for. In other words, what's being sold here now is the legacy/ experience of being (probably) the oldest restaurant in Bengaluru. Another USP of course is that despite so much crowd, it's a quality and a very cleanly maintained place. Service: Dine in Meal type: Breakfast Price per person: ₹1–200 Food: 3 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4 Recommended dishes: Masala Dosa, Idly Sambhar, Idly Vada, Kesaribath Vegetarian offerings: Menu is all vegetarian
