Nicely cooked fish deserve ordering. The efficient staff works hard, stays positive and makes this place wonderful. Professional service is something that guests note in their comments. When you enter this place, you feel the lovely atmosphere. But visitors rate this restaurant below average on Google.

I visited Vaidyarude Kada recently, influenced by the hype on social media and word of mouth. Unfortunately, my experience didn’t live up to the expectations. While the place boasts a wide variety of fish dishes, none of them truly stood out in terms of taste. The flavors felt average—nothing special or memorable. It’s evident that this is an old establishment with a legacy of serving delicious food in its heyday, but nowadays, it feels like they are riding on past glory. The charm has faded, and the quality doesn’t match the reputation it still carries online. Another downside is the space. The restaurant is very small, with just one or two tables, making it feel cramped and uncomfortable, especially during peak hours. Overall, Vaidyarude Kada feels more like a nostalgic name than a must-visit spot today. If you're expecting a culinary gem, you might end up feeling disappointed like I did. Unless you order special curry, you get regular meals with not much items. Curries that comes with the meals are barely OK. Their specials are good and cheap when compared to other fish speciality places. A large karimeen curry was only Rs 250. So, if you are near Pathiramanal, this a good place to go. The shop is a very normal chayakada style place. Go early as seats could get filled quickly - there are only 3-4 desks withi 4 seats each. People are very good and they do a good job serving you. However they will push you to eat (buy) additional items by simply serving on your desk that you will not feel like sensding it back or saying 'no'. There is no name board as Vaydiyar's; Google search for Vaydiyar's restaurant. There is a name board as Smitha Hotel.
