The Tribe Cafe is a hidden gem for book lovers and coffee enthusiasts located at the heart of south kolkata. This cafe offers a vibrant atmosphere with comfortable seating, walls full of paintings and contemporary posters, variety of board games to indulge in and finally bookshelves adored with a diverse collection of books for patrons to enjoy while sipping on their beverage. Finely brewed coffee or tea accompanied with a unique menu ranging from good old bhetki fish fry to stir fried chicken with brocoli to grilled fish, that too at a moderate pocket pinch this place doesn't dissapoint. This place hosts a lot of fun events like quiz, musical evenings and many more. From a group of friends catching up, or couples out for a date night or if you want a lazy evening with a book and coffee, this Cafe is for everyone. I have visited this cafe three times, and my experience has been mixed. The first two visits were enjoyable, especially since they had board games that my friends and I could play. However, my last visit was disappointing.The cafe recently implemented a new policy prohibiting board games on weekends, citing concerns about disturbing other customers and occupying seats for extended periods. However, it was a slow day with no one even waiting outside for a table, making the reasoning seem unnecessary. The way this policy was communicated to us was also unprofessional.To make matters worse, the drinks we ordered didn't meet our expectations. Despite ordering the same cold brew that we enjoyed on our previous visit, the taste was off, and it seemed like it wasn't made properly. I'm not sure if I'll be returning to this cafe anytime soon.
