Shamiana at Taj Mahal Palace is an excellent restaurant with a great ambience. The restaurant is located inside the iconic Taj Mahal Palace, giving it a luxurious and grand feel. The staff are friendly and attentive and they make sure that your experience is a pleasant one. The menu offers a good selection of Indian and Western dishes, with something to suit everyone's taste. The food is delicious and well-prepared, and the prices are reasonable. The wait for a table can be quite long, but reservations can be made in advance. All in all, Shamiana is a great place to visit for a meal in Mumbai.
Absolutely disappointing experience of dining in Shamiana. Food was bad at best. Spread was limited, tasteless and cold. None of the dishes evoked any sort of uniqueness or even proper taste. The food stall outside the restaurant would have tastier dishes. Maybe our expectations were way high, given that it's Taj. But honestly, this was the worst dinner experience at Taj that I've had. Food quality needs to be improved multi multi fold to meet Taj standards. The worst dish was the Hara Bhara Kabab. It had no taste. Even ingredients were stake.Beetroot Tikki was flavourless and Cheese Balls were oily to the core. The Paneer dish had a handful of pieces floating in a pool of oily gravy. The lasagna was uninspiring. Soups had no soup sticks. The Shawarma was served cold. Pani-puri was also just okay. Mocktails also had no variety of taste. Only saving grace were the service quality and desserts. But it was far too less to salvage the already degraded state of food quality.
