Rarely, in the world of Mumbai food joints, do you find a place untouched by adulteration and the need for mere visual appeal. Kebab Gunj, a hole in the wall joint, lies in a quiet corner of Colaba, and speaks to its authenticity without the crutches of loud edible colour that we have now gotten so used to when ordering Awadhi or Mughlai items. The flavour is heavenly and the service is commendable. A special thank you to Harprit, who took such special care of us and arranged for us to sit outside to accompany our dogs, and enjoy our meal. We had the chicken seekh and chicken tandoori - both spectacular, and the chicken galawti kebab, that we simply had to order twice, since it was so divine.
