I planned and visited this restaurant for lunch based on the good reviews. The resturant and resort itself had great ambiance. Just the path that took us there lacked proper road and was quite steep. I checked two different routes and both weren't upto the mark. Just one was relatively less steep. We went there mainly for Briyani based on the photos from Google maps but to our disappointment the staff mentioned they don't serve it for lunch and it's only available for dinner. We ordered sweet corn soap, veg pasta, veg pulao and few more items. Soup tasted really great, fresh and authentic. My 2 year old kid was having it calmly without giving trouble. And the white penne pasta was creamy and it tasted fairly good. Just I was expecting it to have some cheese but didn't see any trace of it. But my kid liked it. My main course was veg pulao which took over 40 minutes to reach the table and my initial few spoons tasted pretty good. But after that I felt mud texture and taste due to which I had to return it. When I reported, the staff didn't believe me and was defending stating there is no chance that it happened. I asked for replacement but they were hesitant probably due to wait time. But the food for rest of my family was good. They didn't charge me for the pulav but for the time they took to prepare it and reputation of the restaurant I didn't expect that. Hope it's rare mistake. Most of the staffs were courteous and welcoming. Just the security person was demanding for tips. I didn't have change with me initially, then found 10 rupees which when I offered he refused it stating he never accepts 10 ruppees bill. I was just visiting resturant, nither I stayed in the resort nor took vallet parking. I literally didn't get any help from him but was fine tipping him since he asked for it. I understand 10 is less but given the circumstances he should either not ask for it or should accept what was offered. His gesture was unwelcoming. Those two mistakes are the only reason for 3 star rating. Overall I still liked it. Probably I will visit someother day and hope to have better experience. Restaurant's staff Mangala was kind and very patient from briefing to service and food was amazing, will be visiting the Orchid Restaurant once again without miss. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
