Visitors don't like fish at this restaurant. Unfortunately, the staff is hospitable as most guests note. Nice service is something that guests would like to improve here. As guests' comments display, sometimes the atmosphere at The Fat Fish Restaurant can be homey. Google users rated this place and it didn't get a high rating.

Don't. Absolutely horrible restaurant. The service was slow, food was lackluster and the atmosphere didn't help. Service: While ordering, we were informed that there were no prawns in stock. Already a strange occurrence for a restaurant advertised as a seafood restaurant, but forgiveable since they reduced the cost of the food with prawns. It took 15 to 20 minutes for the food to be ready, though there weren't that many people there. On arrival, the ordered Fish and Chips wasn't served with the chips or the dip. On asking, we were informed that they ran out of chips. This was not informed when ordering, and again, they tried to compensate by giving us a reduction(which they didn't give in the end). A 10 minute wait later, the dish was served, cold and unseasoned. Though the restaurant is self service, the people taking your order at the counter aren't the most attentive or hospitable. Food: We ordered a plate of seafood fried rice, fish and chips, plain rice and chicken curry. The seafood fried rice didn't have prawns as they ran out. The fish and chips were initially served without chips, and when they finally gave us the chips, the fish was cold and the chips were unseasoned. The chicken in the curry had absolutely no flavour at all, but the gravy was tasty. Atmosphere: Not the best. The outside dining area was teeming with crows, which would steal the food right off of your plate if given the chance. But they can't control the birds, so it's excusable. What isn't excusable is the crow poop, insects and other assorted debris on the table. The AC dining room is just a bit better. But, the AC units overhead do occasionally drip water onto you. Overall, I do not recommend this restaurant. Spend your money and time somwhere better. I bought a soda for Rs. 60. The counter guy made us wait for 15 minutes for the soda. Upon asking him to generate the bill, the guy crushed the bill and stamped the bottle on the counter eventually hurting an elderly person with us. Shameful behaviour!! I wish there was a rating lower than 1 for this behaviour!
