We visited this restaurant yesterday night to celebrate a special occasion. After enjoying our meal, we cut our cake and requested the staff to pack the leftover cake as a parcel. Unfortunately, during the bill payment, we forgot to collect the cake in the rush as it was late and travelling options were limited. By the time we reached home, it was already 1 AM. We immediately tried to call the restaurant, but no one answered. The next morning, we personally visited the restaurant to collect our cake. To our disappointment, the staff told us that they had thrown it away because they were “not sure whose cake it was” — even though we had celebrated, cut the cake, and asked them to pack it right there at our table. The explanation felt unconvincing, and it appeared more like they had eaten the cake rather than actually throwing it away. This was extremely disappointing and unprofessional, especially considering it was part of our celebration and had sentimental value. We expected more responsibility and basic customer service from a reputed restaurant. This incident has left a very poor impression, and I hope the management takes better care of guests’ belongings in the future instead of giving excuses. Meal type: Dinner
