The staff needs some serious sensitivity training for the treatment of animals. We were initially very happy to see stray dogs sitting at the entrance gate. They were friendly and welcoming. But later, those same dogs were badly chased away twice in the gap of few minutes, by one of the staff members. When we informed the reception about it, they acted like it wasn't that big a deal, and one of them unenthusiastically went out to check what happened. It was impossible they didn't notice it happen since the reception is just a few steps from the entrance. This incident left us disappointed. The hotel is marketed as a pet-friendly property with so much of emphasis on having empathy towards animals. If the staff too aligned with that vision, it would make some sense. Else it's just a gimmicky concept, which I really want to hope that it's not. Service: 3

Dear Yael,Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We truly value your perspective, especially as someone who appreciates animals. We’d like to clarify that while we are a pet-friendly property and genuinely care for animals, not all our guests are comfortable with stray dogs around the entrance or in common areas. The dogs you noticed are actually pets of the opposite bungalow. Please know that out of compassion we also keep food for them at the back of our property. They often chase the cats we’ve rescued and begin staying around the property, sometimes entering the poolside and guest zones. Since we also host events, we have to be mindful of all our guests—many of whom may not be as pet-friendly—so the dogs are guided away to the back side, never with the intention to harm, but to create a balanced environment for everyone. Please know that we take our responsibility toward animals seriously. In fact, we currently foster over 23 animals at our Waksai property near Lonavala—including **dogs, cats, hens, and injured birds**—and we ensure they are cared for with love and commitment. Our staff is regularly sensitized to handle such situations thoughtfully, but we acknowledge that in this case, it could have been managed more delicately. We’re grateful for your feedback and will use it to reinforce our values even more strongly within the team. Thank you again for bringing this to our attention.Warm regards,The Bark - An Art Resort

We had a wonderful experience at The Bark – An Art Resort, Lonavala. The resort is beautifully designed with artistic touches throughout, and the lobby area truly stands out as the highlight – it’s vibrant, welcoming, and makes a great first impression. The rooms are clean, cosy, and well-maintained, offering a comfortable stay. The staff is extremely polite and helpful, making the entire experience warm and pleasant. The restaurant serves delicious food, and we especially enjoyed the breakfast spread, which had a good variety of options. The pool and garden areas are picturesque, perfect for relaxing or capturing some great photos. A special mention to Ms. Isha, one of the owners, who was incredibly cooperative and approachable. The only minor drawback is the approach road near the resort – the steep incline requires careful driving, especially if you're unfamiliar with the area. However, once you're inside the property, the overall vibe and hospitality make it totally worth it. Would definitely recommend this place for a peaceful getaway! Service: 5

Located a 2 minute drive behind Fariyas Resort. This hotel really is a labour of love. We were told that the owner lives pets and art and the entire property feels like a contemporary museum. Kids had fun in the pool and in their games room. Adults, we loved their relaxing gazebo and the flowers all around. Buffet is simple yet very fresh. Lovely large rooms, clean and spacious. We will be back. Service: 5

Dear Raphael, Thank you for your generous heart felt review. It is my labour of love and I am assisted by my daughters to run the place. We three try to do our best to keep it home like, and yet keep the art alive. We would love to have you back. Thank you once again. Ritu Chadha Owner. Namaste! Thank you so much for your beautiful review! We're truly touched by your kind words and thrilled that you enjoyed the unique charm of our property. We’re so glad the kids had fun in the pool and games room, and that the adults found time to relax and unwind in the gazebo and gardens. Your mention of the fresh buffet and thoughtful details really means a lot to our team. We can't wait to welcome you and your family back again soon!
