I recently stayed at The Ashtan Sarovar Portico, and while my stay was comfortable, the experience at checkout left me completely disappointed. After checking out in the morning, I left my luggage at the hotel as I had a meeting. When I returned in the afternoon to collect it, I simply requested a room for 10 minutes to change before heading out. I have stayed in many reputed properties, and such a request is usually accommodated as a basic courtesy. To my shock, my request was blatantly denied without any consideration, forcing me to change in the restroom—a completely unacceptable situation for a hotel that claims to prioritise guest comfort. I have travelled extensively for business and stayed at many reputed properties, but this is the first time I have experienced such an inflexible and unwelcoming response. Hospitality is not just about policies—it’s about understanding guest needs and showing a level of care beyond just providing a room for the night. Sarovar completely failed in this regard. I will never stay at a Sarovar property again and wouldn't recommend it to fellow travellers who expect even a basic level of guest-centric service. Mr. Vikas Kumar Abrol.... I hope you reflect on this experience and rethink the approach your team takes towards guest requests. A little flexibility and empathy could have changed my entire perception of the Sarovar brand.
