Thalassa in Goa is truly a vibe! The ambience is super aesthetic and gives off the feel of an authentic Greek restaurant. The best part? You can sit back with a drink in hand and watch the sunset, it’s absolutely stunning. The live performances and music add so much energy to the place, and the belly dancers are a total highlight! It’s definitely a weekend hotspot, the crowd gets wild once the drinks kick in. That said, the food and drinks are definitely on the expensive side, and the waiting time for a table can be painfully long. But despite that, Thalassa is a must-visit if you’re in Goa. For the vibe alone, it’s worth experiencing at least once. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: ₹1,800–2,000 Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5 Vegetarian offerings: Clearly labelled vegetarian dishes, Not sure
I recently visited Thalassa in Goa and, honestly, I found it completely overhyped. The prices are very expensive, and it felt like they’re more focused on making money than providing a good experience. The food was costly and didn’t feel worth it at all. We went at night expecting to enjoy the famous vibe, but it was so hot and humid inside. When we asked for a table near a fan, our request wasn’t accommodated well. There are far better places in Goa that offer a much better experience for much less. The only thing I actually enjoyed was the DJ, but overall, the visit was a waste and I wouldn’t recommend it. There will be casualties in the restaurant trade as a result of the current economic turmoil; I sincerely think Thallasa is one of them.
I visited with my wife, sister and 2 year old daughter. I had reserved a table and was directed to a no smoking area which we requested.
The live performance which used to be highlight of previous visits has been reduced to nothing but a Mumbai dance bar vibe. The quality has gone down by many notches.
The worst part of the experience was later at night when the staff allowed multiple guests to smoke in our area. Even after multiple requests the staff was not bothered and according to them they allow guests to smoke anywhere even in front of kids, in smoking zone. I pointed to a notice next to bar which mentioned no smoking zone and a fine of 200. The staff hilariously discarded it saying the notice is for the hotel staff? Where in world do you see staff smoking in a restaurant? We quickly settled our inflated bill on over-priced food and worst experience ever.
