All the items tasted very well. Biryani masala and fried peace in the biryani was cooked well.
However the squid roast that cost around 170 rs was not justified with the quantity they serve, it was just around hundred grams. Also noticed that few of the staff members were not wearing the Mask inside the restaurant.
A trip to #kothambaribythakkaaram will provide you with answers. This is the Malabar cuisine like you haven't experienced anywhere else in Kochi. It isn't everyday that you taste everything that rings yet a different medley of taste than the other.
So, with much delay shall I proceed into my favorites of the palatte.
1. Prawn pulimoonji : This is prawns marinated and cooked to perfection in the sourness of tamarind and tomato like never before. A must try. Rs. 360
2. Beef bellary : Beef in a think and rich yellow gravy painstakingly infused with fragrant spices. There is heaven right here. Rs. 230
3. Urulees thenga aracha fish curry : if you think you've had the best fish curry ever, this one is here to challenge you. Go try it and thank me later. Rs.640
4. Kunjan kozhi velichenna fry : tender chicken cooked into a crisp and spiced crumb but a soft and juicy inside.
5. Malabar neer dosa : with the perfect thickness and texture neer dosa is the most balanced and best supporting character to the gravy drama on the side.
I ended the day with a sulaimani and then a theen mittai that oozes of nostalgia. But you may also try the Puyalpla shake with cashew, anjeer, dates and what not.
