Attended the Christmas soiree at taj Marriott 101 with high expectations, but it turned out to be a complete disappointment. The food was an absolute disaster—nothing tasted good, not a single dish stood out. There was practically no music or Christmas vibe. A guitarist was present but played only for a few minutes and then disappeared. There was no festive atmosphere, no carols, no energy—nothing that felt like Christmas at all. Despite charging such a high price, the basics were missing. There was no table décor, no festive setup, and even simple things like hot rotis were not served properly. I had to repeatedly call the staff just to get hot rotis. Overall, it felt poorly planned and not worth the money at all. Extremely disappointed and would not recommend this Christmas soiree to anyone. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: ₹2,000+ Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

We are guests at the hotel, our third time to this property. Table 101 has consistently good service, though they tend to get a bit backed up during their busy breakfast service. The breakfast buffet is large, varied, and thoughtful. Two people in particular deserve a shoutout - Mr. Vishnu who runs the masala chai service, and Mr. Amit Das, the Food and Beverage manager for the Surat Mariott. We are hosting two large dinners here for our families in Surat, and Mr. Das helped to arrange reservations, one for “Al fresco” dining on their beautiful porch, and one in the Spice Terrace with live ghazal music.
