Today I visited the TGIF Pune location at The Pavillion Mall for lunch and ordered the sizzling fajitas— to enjoy their signature guacamole. After being served the fajitas, I saw that there was no guacamole served with the dish, so I asked for it. But when the server came back, I saw what was served to me was not guacamole. I asked to speak to the chef. To my disappointment, I was informed that ripe avocados were unavailable so raw avocado chopped up with tomato and cucumber was served as guacamole. As an international brand known for a consistent, high-quality dining experience, such substitutions can fall short of guest expectations—especially for a dish as iconic as guacamole. Guests come to TGI Fridays for that authentic taste and experience, and guacamole is a staple of your Tex-Mex menu. If you do not have an ingredient, please inform the guest at the time of placing order but don't try and fool the customer by serving something else.
