Jayavilas Hotel in Madurai is a legendary spot for authentic Chettinad non-veg cuisine. Located near Meenakshi Temple, it’s famous for mutton chukka, kola urundai, crab omelette, and seeraga samba biryani. The meals are served on banana leaves, adding a traditional touch. The flavors are rich, portions generous, and the prices reasonable. Though the ambiance is simple, the food more than makes up for it. A must-visit for anyone wanting to experience the true taste of Madurai. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4

I visited this place after seeing a lot of posts on Instagram, but it was a big thumbs down. Do not believe the food blogger promotions. The food taste is average with too much oil but nothing special to justify the price. Portions were small, and for what they charge, it’s definitely not worth it. The ambience is so poor, not a good place to dine in and enjoy your meal with family, may be it's good for bachelor's who loves street food ambience. Overall disappointed with the food , ambience and price. I would recommend exploring those local gems in & around madurai, instead of falling for social media promotions. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: ₹2,000+ Food: 3 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 1
