We have visited Leela Palace Chennai three times now — on 6th September, 28th October, and 31st October (Halloween dinner) — and unfortunately, every visit has been disappointing despite assurances from the management after my first complaint. During our latest visit, while the food quality was slightly better, the washroom was in an extremely unhygienic condition — there was no running water, and the toilets were dirty with faecal matter floating, which many guests noticed and were uncomfortable about. I even had to inform the manager about it. To make matters worse, an inedible item was served along with edibles. My kids bit into it and got a toothache, and even adults couldn’t chew through it. I informed the waiter immediately, but the response was indifferent. It’s disappointing to see such poor hygiene and quality standards in a property that claims to be five-star. After three unpleasant experiences, I’ve decided not to return. Other star hotels in Chennai maintain far better service, food standards, and cleanliness. Went for a family dinner and it was my father's birthday. It was a superb dinner the restaurant is completely top notch and the services are superb. The buffet spread was very huge. Taste is something which is very important and I tried many hotel buffet but spectra buffet quality was too good. The services were amazing and the staffs are very polite and humble. They all are very attentive. Sameer the incharge was very caring and always checking for the quality service. Chef Aman also look after on our allergen requests. Especially mentioned staffs Sameer, Aman, Purnima, Geneive, Karthik , Pintu , Icshika , Alienla ,Ruksana and Priti . They all celebrated my father's birthday. It was a memorable day for me and my family. Thanks Spectra team and Mark for making the day.
