The Kyoto Tantanmen ramen was really bad. Lacked flavour, close to no taste. The broth tasted really weird. Adding extreme amounts of chilli oil and soy sauce made it somewhat bearable but still couldn’t finish the whole thing. The lychee mojito and the passion fruit punch were extremely mediocre. The edamame truffle dim sums were the only decent thing.

Visited Sozo Izakaya in Juhu for a lovely Japanese dining experience, and it truly captures the casual Izakaya-style vibe! The menu features some authentic Japanese favorites like Ramen, Sushi, and Baogers — all thoughtfully presented. We tried their: Veg Maki Sushi Roll – fresh and light. Khowsuey Ramen – This was good but could have been better. Had much better khowsuey Kimchi Donburi – perfectly balanced with a nice tang. Mash Smash Veggie Baogers – soft, flavorful, and a fun fusion twist. The ambiance is simple and cozy — not too fancy, but comfortable for a relaxed meal. Prices are quite reasonable too — around ₹1100 for two, which makes it a great spot for casual Japanese dining in Juhu. Overall, Sozo Izakaya is a nice place to enjoy only if you truly love Japanese food, friendly service, and an authentic Japanese touch without going overboard on budget.
