We visited Souk at Taj Bengal today (February 14th) at 7:30 PM to celebrate our anniversary. Unfortunately, the experience was a complete letdown and spoilt our special evening. The food was equally disappointing. The Hot Mezze Halloumi took over 20 minutes to arrive and was served cold and chewy. When we sent it back, it was returned to us simply cut into smaller pieces to look like a refill, missing the original dressing and zucchini base. To make matters worse, it was incredibly salty—tasting like a "salt bomb." Even after being "fixed," it remained chewy and was not replaced. We had mentioned the occasion during booking and were promised a cake, which never arrived. Service was inattentive; after waiting a long time for our starters, we asked for a refill of the nibble platter, but the waiter only brought back pickled vegetables, ignoring the chips. While the Shawarma was fine, the overall lack of hospitality and poor food quality completely spoilt our special evening. Very disappointed with the service at a Taj property. Needs work. The food is good, not quite mind blowing but pretty good. A bit on the blander side, considering they are serving middle eastern cuisine and have so many spices to play with. 4stars for the food. The service is what needs work. I am used to Taj's service being impeccable, waters are always filled, orders never need a follow up, the attention to detail is on point. It wasn't the case during our visit and can certainly use some work. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: ₹2,000+ Food: 4 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3
