Nestled inside the crowded market of Chawri Bazar, one can easily spot a glow sign reading Shakahari Restaurant, since 1962. The name pretty much explains the type of food you will get here. A tiny gate for an entrance, opening to a steep flight of stairs, leading straight to their kitchen!! The dining area is reminiscent to a dining room of a house. An open kitchen (housing a tandoor in this case) on one side and dining table(s) on the other! We ordered their speciality- Special Urad Dal which is served in a tiny bucket, with a quarter of an inch layer of pure ghee on top and Onion Besani- Tiny little missi rotis which are served dipped in ghee with lal mirch ka achaar!
