The only thing that can be written against them, if at all, is that the order takes time to be prepared. Of course, they make the food on order and this may be used in their defense. Otherwise, this place is a must visit. Rahul, the guy who runs the place is hands-on; he interacts well with the guests, is well-informed of the foods he offers. The shack has a lively vibe to it. The sea-view adds to the overall appeal. Staff is attentive too. Good cutlery, tableware...clean and tidy overall. Food is going to memorable, for sure. We enjoyed their curry leaves prawns (must try), fish moilee (must try), pepper crab (must try), desserts (also must try!) Other than the time they take to serve you fresh food (all freshly made), everything else is a win for this place. Even the wait is more than well compensated with the delectable food served. Well made, right temperature, right heat and spice. Rahul, who runs the space gives you good inputs to help you place an order. Their Curry Leaves Prawns, Pepper Crab, Fish Curry and Rice are to come back for. Desserts were again, just right. Very well made. Overall we had a great experience with good conversations and great food! During our recent stay in Mahabalipuram, we discovered Shaka Shack, and it quickly became our favorite dining spot — so much so that we ate there 8 out of our 10 nights! The food is simply outstanding; each dish is bursting with flavor and made with fresh ingredients that made every meal memorable. The chef is one of a kind!! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with a vibrant vibe that draws you in and makes you feel right at home. The owner is incredibly friendly and passionate about providing an exceptional experience, which truly shines through in the service. The staff is equally awesome, always attentive and welcoming, ensuring that every visit is enjoyable. From the delicious meals to the fantastic service and lively atmosphere, Shaka Shack has it all. I can’t recommend this restaurant highly enough — a true gem in Mahabalipuram!
