Our recent evening outing to Saravana Bhawan in Connaught Place turned out to be a memorable family dining experience, cherished by all generations—from our grandmother to our youngest family member, the grandson. Renowned for its authentic South Indian vegetarian cuisine, the restaurant truly lived up to its reputation. Located in the bustling heart of Delhi, the Connaught Place outlet of Saravana Bhawan welcomes you with a warm, traditional ambiance. What caught our attention immediately was the presence of an all-women staff, who were not only courteous but also efficient and attentive. Their hospitality added a graceful and respectful touch to the dining experience, making us feel comfortable and cared for. As for the food, it was simply outstanding. We began with Rawa Masala Dosa, which was crisp, golden, and generously filled with spiced potato masala. The accompanying coconut chutney, tomato chutney, and piping hot sambar elevated the experience. The idlis were soft and fluffy, a perfect comfort food especially appreciated by the elderly members of our family. The medu vadas, crispy on the outside and soft within, were a hit across the table. We also tried parathas, which, while being a North Indian item, were surprisingly well-made and a thoughtful addition for those looking for variety. Each dish reflected freshness and authenticity, showing the brand’s commitment to quality ingredients and traditional preparation methods. The meal was perfectly rounded off with a cup of filter coffee—strong, aromatic, and served in a traditional steel tumbler, just the way it should be. For many of us, especially our grandmother, it brought back memories of old South Indian homes. The service was prompt, the hygiene was impeccable, and the prices were reasonable given the prime location and quality of food. Overall, Saravana Bhawan at Connaught Place is an ideal spot for families seeking a pure, vegetarian South Indian meal in a clean, respectful and welcoming environment. Whether you're a seasoned lover of dosas and idlis or introducing your children to South Indian flavors, this restaurant is sure to impress. Highly recommended for a wholesome and heartwarming dining experience. Meal type: Other Price per person: ₹1–200 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

After an early morning drive to India Gate, we reached Hotel Saravana Bhavan right at 8 AM — the moment it opens — and there was already a crowd waiting. That says a lot about the popularity and consistent reputation of this place. Personally, I consider it the best South Indian restaurant I’ve ever been to. The flavors are authentic, the food is always fresh, and the service is efficient even during busy hours. I tried the podi idli, onion rava masala dosa, and a few other dishes — every item was flavorful and true to its roots. The chutneys and sambar were spot-on, complementing the food perfectly.
