While returning back from Nandgaon, we were looking for a pure veg restaurant. The region is filled with seafood joints and could not find a pure-veg restaurant. We kept driving and finally took a detour towards Pen town to locate Samruddhi Restaurant on Pen Naka. A very ordinary road side restaurant without any fancy settings. We had difficulty in finding a parking space, but were bit reluctant when we first entered the dining area. The food that we ordered came very quickly and the taste was just amazing. We requested less oil, less spicy without onion/garlic. The food served were very tasty, hot and quick. The waiter was very kind and the kindness and willingness to fulfill our request made us feel good. When you are on a long road trip, you need to eat less oily & less spicy food so that you keep going without any trouble. Fortunately Samruddhi in Pen Naka was a perfect discovery for us. I strongly recommend this restaurant. Yes it's little inside from the highway towards Pen market road, which can be a bottleneck during peak hours. But it's worth a stop for tasty, homely vegetarian food.
