Salt n Pepper has always been one of my personal favourites, and I’ve enjoyed their food earlier during home deliveries. However, my recent dine-in experience was quite disappointing.The service was polite and the staff were courteous, but the main concern was the food. We had ordered Chicken Hakka Noodles, expecting the same flavourful, smoky Chinese taste. Unfortunately, it was nowhere near that. The noodles were overcooked, bland, and completely lacked the aroma of garlic, soy sauce, or wok smoke — the essence of a good Hakka dish.We even requested the staff to prepare it properly by adding capsicum and onion, but both were missing. When we raised this concern, the response was, “It’s not veg Hakka noodles; chicken Hakka noodles are made like that.” That explanation was quite disappointing because authentic Hakka noodles — veg or non-veg — always include onion, capsicum, and a balance of flavours.Instead of remaking the dish, they simply tossed the same noodles with a bit of garlic and returned it to the table. It clearly showed that they didn’t understand or acknowledge the mistake. The result was a completely bland, unflavoured dish with poor presentation.For the price being charged, customers expect authentic taste and consistency — not just plain noodles with chicken pieces. Salt n Pepper has served much better food in the past, but this time, it truly failed to meet even the basic standard of Chinese cuisine.Very disappointed, and I sincerely hope the management pays attention to improving their Chinese food quality and training the kitchen staff accordingly.
