We visited Sakana for the first time without a reservation, arriving just as they were about to close, and we were accompanied by our friend’s dog. Despite the timing, the team accommodated us without any complaints, and the food was outstanding. We enjoyed it so much that my girlfriend and I decided to return again with our own dogs. On our second visit, the restaurant was full and we were informed there would be a 30minute wait. We completely understand that busy evenings happen. However, we felt there could have been a bit more engagement or warmth in how it was handled, perhaps offering us the option to wait with a drink while a table was arranged. As returning guests who had thoroughly enjoyed (and supported) the restaurant earlier, we were hoping for a slightly more welcoming approach. The following day, we called to make a reservation and mentioned we would be coming with two dogs. During the call, we were asked what should be done about them and were told to tie them to the table. While we fully understand the need for basic guidelines regarding pets, the manner in which it was communicated felt somewhat impersonal. As a restaurant owner myself in Goa, I truly value hospitality and guest experience, which is why this stood out to me. Sakana serves excellent food, and that hasn’t changed, I only hope the guest experience can consistently match the quality of the cuisine. Food: 5 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 5
