Among other Japanese and Peruvian cuisune places to visit, this restaurant can be one of the greatest. Heliconia should be recommended for perfectly cooked salmon ceviche, rolls and salmon. A lot of people point out that waiters offer good ice cream here.

The high ratings of this place would be impossible without the cool staff. Terrific service is something visitors appreciate here. You will appreciate the cute decor and pleasant atmosphere of this spot. 4.7 is what this restaurant received from the Google rating system.

We came for valentines dinner. Once we were seated we were given one menu between the two of us seated on opposite sides of the table. We asked for another menu two times and got one after ten minutes. Then we had to ask for a drinks menu. Our beer came after fifteen minutes. We were not given cutlery when the food came. We were not given soy with the sushi. We were not given water despite asking multiple times. I actually had to get up and get it myself from the service desk. Our ceviche had pieces of fish that were not chopped properly. There was even a large piece of fish skin. When I showed the waiter the badly chopped fish he told me that’s what ceviche looks like. We didn’t bother ordering any more food and left. We didn’t even get an apology for their terrible service.

We recently had dinner at Heliconia at JW Marriott Goa and tried their set menus both non veg and vegetarian. The restaurant does Japanese Peruvian cuisine and they also offer an à la carte menu which makes it a great option whether you want a curated experience or to pick your own dishes. The non veg set began with rock shrimp which was beautifully cooked and full of flavour. This was followed by chicken gyoza and a maki roll featuring prawns uramaki sushi which was fresh and well balanced. The kingfish miso for mains was a highlight. Soft flaky fish with subtle flavours that really stood out. Dessert was a Peruvian tres leches served with strawberry yogurt and it was light refreshing and not overly sweet. The vegetarian set menu was equally impressive. The rock corn with spicy mayo yuzu drops almonds quinoa and more had great texture and a lovely punch. The mushroom gyoza was comforting and flavourful. The crispy asparagus and cheese maki roll was fun and well done. For mains the yaki meshi with tofu edamame and vegetables was wholesome and satisfying. Dessert was the chocolate pebble which was a dark chocolate mousse and felt indulgent without being heavy. We also tried a few cocktails and mocktails which were really well crafted and paired nicely with the food.Overall Heliconia offers a refined dining experience with thoughtful flavours great presentation and attentive service. Perfect for a special dinner or when you want to try something different in Goa. Would definitely return.
