Visited Sainath Khanaval today and ordered the Chicken Masala Thali. The taste was good and perfectly spicy for those who enjoy bold flavours. They offer two options in the thali Bhakri and Chapati along with Indrayani rice which adds a nice touch to the meal. One thing to note is that they don’t have cold drinks available, so you may need to manage with water only. The seating arrangement is quite congested and there’s a ventilation problem, which can feel uncomfortable during rush hours. Deeply Disappointed by the Decline at Sainath Khanawal, Tilak Road - I visited Sainath Khanawal today (Sunday, around 12 PM) and had a terrible experience. The place was packed, which was expected, but the attitude of the staff was shocking. When I inquired about the waiting time, the person at the counter blatantly ignored me — twice. A waiter finally arranged a seat, but even after sitting down, no one came to take my order for at least 5 minutes. Despite my gestures to get attention, the counter person kept ignoring me. When the food finally arrived after another 10 minutes, I was told bhakri was unavailable, so I settled for chapati. The chicken masala was cold, bland, and completely lacking the flavour Sainath was once known for. The chapatis were of poor quality with a rubbery texture. Frankly, the meal was below average and disappointing. Hygiene has always been a known issue here, which I used to overlook because the taste and service compensated for it. But this time, neither the taste nor the service justified putting up with such poor standards. The quality of ingredients has clearly deteriorated. What truly crossed the line was the arrogance of the counter person — even when I went to pay the bill, he ignored me and smirked when I stood waiting. That level of disrespect was infuriating. I’ve been a regular customer for years, but after today’s experience, I’m done. Sainath Khanawal has lost its charm — bad service, poor food, unhygienic conditions, and zero customer respect. Definitely not worth the money or the mental frustration.
