We were passing by when we came across Bar 23 in Benaulim — silent, peaceful, and inviting. I was honestly a bit hesitant to enter, but we decided to try it out… and I’m so glad we did! We ordered the fish thali, prawns rechado, and sol curry — all absolutely amazing. The homemade flavours instantly reminded me of home, and the sol curry was the most authentic and refreshing one I’ve had in a long time. My husband was also looking around for Urrak but couldn’t find it anywhere. So he casually asked the owner, Joe. To our surprise, Joe went out of his way — he called his friend, arranged for Urrak to be brought specially, and served it free of cost, saying it was complimentary. I genuinely feel that Goa is not just about parties and crowds — it’s about these small gestures, warmth, and the little moments of happiness we often miss out on. Rating: (5/5) I recently had the pleasure of dining at Bar No. 23, and I must say it was an exceptional experience that left me completely satisfied. I had the pleasure of trying several dishes, but a few stood out as true highlights. The fish thali was an absolute revelation. The different varities of fish rava fries and goan masala were another standout, with the seafood cooked to perfection and accompanied by a harmonious blend of spices.
