Roots is pretty near Nehru Children's Museum. Many people visit this bar to try nicely cooked Bbq chicken pizza, chicken tikka and katsu. Order good cheesecakes. Delicious liqueur is worth a try here. Come to Roots for great coffee.

Roots is one of my favourite places to hangout in Kolkata. I love the vibe here. The combination of open terrace and air-conditioned club is brilliant. You can enjoy the beautiful views of Kolkata from here. The food is good. The music, service and ambience is awesome. The lady at the entrance is helpful and professional. The experience is totally worth it, especially with the lovely view of Victoria and the church. You’ll get beautiful photos, and the food and staff are both excellent. We went here last night to celebrate nothing in particular but just our family. We made a prior booking in the District app and got a good offer for the final payment. We found the location quite easily and they have valet parking. We were welcomed with smiles from the ground floor where the security guard guided us to the rooftop. As soon as we entered we were escorted to our table and our server was already assigned. Mr Sourav was such a delight, helping us with dishes that would be good for our palate and what could be called as a good option. We were a group of 7 people and we sat inside at a round table. Music was lovely, little on the higher side but as expected at a pub. A huge screen for the ipl match and for any b'day wishes. Loved this aspect as I love cricket! The views inside and outside on the rooftop are stunning. Roots is lovely! You can sit outside and get a lovely view of Victoria Memorial and St Paul's Cathedral. Coming to the dishes we had...we had quite a few starters like lotus roots, three kinds of chicken kebabs, salmon sushi, stuffed roasted potato, mushroom and dumplings. Every single dish was tasty. Plates were empty almost as soon as we were served. For the main course we had chicken khouwsuey and a bhetki fish steak. Impeccable! Drinks were on the lower side today for our troop but the two mocktails were delicious. Loved everything we are honestly. The staff even helped us celebrate my parents'anniversary with a lovely cake! Thank you Roots, I appreciate the extra efforts. So I recommend this place? Yes. Highly! For family, for dates, for a fun time...yes.
