Lovely, filling shawarma, good value for the price. Especially liked the barbecue, smoked chilli, chicken shawarma, quite delicious!

Roasted Chilli Shawarma - Rs.170/- Richie's Shawarma & Grills, Mawlai Mawroh, Shillong Shawarmas, Fries, Beverages $$ 27.04.24 After the Breakfast & Brunch, I skipped lunch & at 6:30pm my hunger slowly came back. So I drove down to Mawlai Mawroh for Part 3 of today's food journey to check out Richie's Shawarma & Grills which is located bang opposite Open Up Cafe. Now this isn't my 1st time trying their Shawarma as I had ordered one online in February when they had just opened shop. The place is easy to find as it's situated right on the main road. I stepped inside & it's a small quaint little eatery with a few seats. I find this the best approach, starting small & then expanding it as & when the business grows organically. Anyway I ordered a Roasted Chilli Shawarma while @mevashangpliang went for the Classic Chicken Shawarma. Later I realized that I ordered the same thing that I had tried out in Feb. Ah well it only gives me a reason to come back & try out their other varieties as well in future. I took a bite & it simply reiterated my review in Feb. And this time the pita bread was warmer & so softer. The reasons why I like this Shawarma are:- - it uses proper pita breads unlike other places which use laccha parathas - the grilled meat inside is cooked well & flavorful - it has just the right amount of mayo otherwise the mayo can overpower the taste of all the other ingredients especially the meat - the mayo is a nice garlic mayo I only wished the size was a little bigger. The fries also added volume & made it like a gyros. Also I prefer the roasted chilli as it had a nice flavorful kick. The classic was just a little too boring for me. Service was ok.
