Chicken Mushroom Soup Chow - Rs.70 Pork Mushroom Fried Rice - Rs.70 Chicken Drumstick - Rs.30 Raymond's Eatery, Umlyngka, Upper Shillong Fast Food $ 25.07.24 Today I'm at @raymondseatery with Meva. I just so happen to chance this place after seeing a Grilled Chicken pic on their Google Map page. Not knowing what to expect, we parked our car & started looking for the restaurant. It took us 2 mins to find it. It was a small little local eatery with a few tables & chairs alongwith a wall table & stools. We were lucky to get a table as this place had quite the rush. Seeing the rush, this gave me some hope as there were 2-3 similar eateries in the vicinity. I asked for the grilled chicken but was disappointed when the owner informed that the cook changed so the dish wasn't available. I became a little apprehensive with the reply but then I ordered a bowl of chicken mushroom soup chow while Meva after alot of introspecting decided on pork mushroom fried rice & a chicken drumstick. The food came & some of my apprehensions tapered off. The quantity was definitely huge for the price. I started with my soup chow, I added black pepper for seasoning & it was good. Decent amount of meat, mushrooms & veggies. The noodles were cooked to perfection. Then I did have a couple of spoons of the fried rice, infact more, & it was even better. The rice was not at all oily & it had a very pleasant taste. I even took a bite of the drumstick. No thick coating. All meat. Just the way I like it. This is one of those special finds. And imagine it opens from 6am to 10pm. Definitely deserves more recognition. Will be back when I'm somewhere nearby.
