Raja Tea Shop , also called Raja Ikkayude Chayakkada, is a small tea stall on Kannitta Road in Pallathuruthy, Alappuzha. It is very popular with locals. Visitors looking to try real Kerala-style breakfast or snacks should visit this place. The shop is famous for its crispy porotta, tasty beef curry or roast, and strong, flavorful tea. This was my first time visiting the place. My brother Raghul, who had often praised the food, took me there. I must say, the food was as good as he said. ️ One special combo you should try is banana fritters (pazham pori) with beef curry, a local favorite. What makes the place even better is its location. It sits next to the calm Alappuzha backwaters. You can eat while watching houseboats go by, which makes the experience very peaceful and scenic. The rustic, vintage vibe adds to its local charm. However, there are a few practical downsides to be aware of. The shop has no designated parking or washroom facility, limited seating (under 15 people), and is usually crowded. Despite these drawbacks, Raja Tea Shop gives a tasty and memorable experience. The best time to visit is early in the morning. If you are in Alappuzha, it's a place you should definitely check out.
